yeah, the SLEEPIES LP is done, finished, completed, set in fucking stone. it costs $10 at shows, $13 over the internets to cover shipping.

SLEEPIES have variously been described as:

"the scene in 'RocknRoll High School' where Riff Randell blasts the Ramones over the intercom...in fast forward"

a "shitty excuse for a garage band" (thanks, jack.)

ahem,

seeing as our motto, 'making records out of nothing at all', has not quite been reflected in our previous output (CDRs and cassettes aren't quite records, you see), doom song is branching out into the actual production of vinyl long players, and is proud to announce its first such release:

the debut full length LP from motherfrakking SLEEPiES.

that's right, doom song #008 is coming, and it will be the real deal – 12 inches, 33 rpms, the works.

accompanying said release will be the long-delayed and dreaded "Culture War" album from the shadowy, mysterious Old Testament Heroes, which will feature 21 new anthems for our totally shitcanned catastrofuck of an age...this will occur on a much more appropriately amateurish format, doom song #007.

as we say here, with some frequency:

huge cheers and appreciations to all those who made last night's show totally wonderful: the righteous and powerful residents of dead herring, bad credit no credit, noisy pig, the unstoppable force that is partyline, and all those who stuck around for the dance party after the noise. as the man says, "sometimes, every once in a while, it's beautiful...i wouldn't have it any other way."

sleepies will be appearing again in public once more this calendar year: friday, 10/30 at le poisson rouge with an unbelievable slate of bands: ex-wife (formerly you without teeth), my mind, drunkdriver, awesome color, and pissed jeans. starts at 6pm, and is five bones.

after this, sleepies will retreat to their bunker to finish working on their debut full-length long player. recording dates are booked for the second week of january, so get fucking psyched.

the informations...

doom song #006 – sleepies/old testament heroes split audiocassette.

sleepies side has two brand new songs, in anticipation of their brain-boiling full length LP coming sometime in early 2010. old testament heroes side features a five song suite entitled "the historical experience of the agrarian reform in our country," detailing the history of the north korean agricultural expropriations. all in all, about ten minutes of raucous noise in a hand made package, surely worth three bones.

and yes, doom song already understand the irony of something so amateurish taking over a year to produce. booyah.

be on the lookout for doom song #007, the highly anticipated (hah!) second full length album from old testament heroes entitled "culture war," which they have been hurriedly finishing in place of writing a master's thesis. before the end of the year.
